چکیده
Abstract Introduction To identify potential diagnostic serum biomarkers, particularly those pertaining to the processes of inflammation and angiogenesis in patients with congenital vascular malformations (CVM). Methods Isolated sera from peripheral bloods consented healthy controls (n = 10) diagnosed as having either low-flow (LF) or high-flow (HF) CVMs. Various mediators were analysed using Inflammation 20-Plex Angiogenesis 18-Plex Human ProcartaPlex™ Panels. Analysis was conducted via Kruskall-Wallis test correlated lesion volumes visual analogue scores for pain Spearman rank correlation test. Results Compared controls, inflammatory E-selectin, IFNa, IFNg, IL1b, IL4, IL12, IL17, MIP1a, MIP1b TNFa elevated LF CVM patients, whereas only MIP1a raised HF patients. None angiogenic altered Serum TNFa, VEGFA, VEGFD syndecan positively CVMs, IP10 did Ang1 leptin negatively respectively. Conclusion could be used distinguish CVMs their expression seemed associated severity The Take-home message

Congenital vascular malformations in scintigraphic evaluation
BACKGROUND Congenital vascular malformations are tumour-like, non-neoplastic lesions caused by disorders of vascular tissue morphogenesis. They are characterised by a normal cell replacement cycle throughout all growth phases and do not undergo spontaneous involution. Here we present a scintigraphic image of familial congenital vascular malformations in two sisters. MATERIAL/METHODS A 17-year...

1 a congenital internal carotid/internal jugular fistula. Based on onset of symptoms the patients ranged in age from 3 months to 16 years with an average age of 74 years; however, 5 patients had their first clinical manifestation before 6 years of age. Unfortunately, definitive diagnosis could not be made until an average of 15i years. The most important clinical manifestations were focal or ge...
متن کاملNew potential diagnostic biomarkers for pulmonary hypertension.
This study aimed to determine whether the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family members soluble VEGF receptor 1 (also called soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt-1)) and placental growth factor (PlGF) could be used as biomarkers for pulmonary hypertension (PH). Consecutive patients undergoing right heart catheterisation were enrolled (those with mean pulmonary arterial pressure ≥...
